It's bad but let's get behind the boys

It was a perfomance reminiscence of last season's woefulness at Wigan and Blackburn. At least those were away games. there is absolutely no excuse for this one. We were just simply POOR.

I am not going to a have a go at the side because it's basically pointless. We were in this same situation last year so basically we can all rehash what said last year and print it again. Let's put it down to a bad day at the office and move on.

I am also not going to blame Almunia for the defeat. Many would point to his blunder in the second and third goal as the key moments where we lost the day. I disagree. No doubt, Al was at his worst today but so were the rest. Diaby, Clichy Koscielny, Arshavin, Eboue... were all equally bad on the pitch.

I still have faith in this team and am very sure that we will pick our self up from this defeat. It is probably a good thing because I think we went into this game pretty complacent and thought we could just stroll to another victory over an inferior team. Now that it happened, let's be optimistic that the boys have learnt a priceless lesson and not repeat this performance again.

On a day when we could have closed the gap to league leaders Chelsea as they went down to the Citizens at Eastlands,we failed to take the opportunity. Nonetheless, I want to give the boys my full support to go out at Stamford Bridge and stun the Blues. If that happens, all the disappointment from today will be forgotten.

Cheer up guys! There's still a long way to go in the season and there will be chance for redemption.
