Do we still want Schwarzer?

Apparently there is a possibility that Mark Schwarzer might still be on his way to the emirates during the January transfer window.  It may be good news for some but I am just wandering now, IS HE GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE GUNNERS?

I know I know, I was one of the fans who was furious when Arsene when he failed to sign the Australian during summer transfer window but as usual Le Professeur have proven that his hindsight is far  superior to mine.

Schwarzer was probably in the form of his life last year and to ask him for a repeat is probably a tall order. His performances since the end of last season when he made that dreadful error to gift us a goal in the last match of the season has not been fantastic. Even his appearances at the world cup thorugh to this season’s games  remind me that he is probably no better than the two clowns we current have in our ranks.

I think one particular match changed my entire perception of him . It was the Fulham vs Blackburn match where he was bulldozed over by Big Sam's thugs time and again. He didn't command the penalty box like he used to and the first goal conceded by Fulham was a direct result of him being bullied in the box by Christopher Samba.
Doesn't it sound familiar how we always complain about Almunia and Fabianski not having control of the penalty area and being bullied by opposing strikers. Now do we want more if the same with the new guy?

This is not to say we shouldn't sign a new keeper in January. We definitely should and need to but we can certainly do better than the 38 year old Aussie from across London.
