WIN tonight to make the fans believe again

Tonight match is a must win for the Gunners not because it would cost us the championship at this early stage of the season. It might but more importantly the Gunners need to win tonight to give us, the long suffering fans, the BELIEVE that the team has grown and is different from the ones that failed to deliver at the most crucial times.
Being a die-hard fan, I need to have something to hold on to the believe that we are capable of challenging for the title this year. I was full of optimism even after the defeat by Chelsea but last Sunday’s loss to Newcastle really knocked the stuffing out of my confidence in the team.

Playing at the Molineaux is no easy matter. On paper, they may look like easy meat but as Manchester City has found out, Wolves at home is a tough nut to crack. Moreover we are going into the match with our usual injury crisis in defence. Without Vermaelen and Koscielny, we fall back onto the Djourou/Squillaci partnership which has not impressed at all. The rest of the team should be fine as we are able to field out our strongest team out the but whether the real players turn up for the match is another matter. Cesc, Song, Arshavin,Chamakh all have to redeem themselves so let’s hope they do it immediately.

At the end of the day, the players and the manager need the fans to be backing the team. Our patience and confidence is running on empty and need fuel to keep them going. A win tonight is the minimum to keep the fire burning in the hearts of even the most hardened fans.
